Happy Halloween! Bob the Builder and I, along with a dozen of our neighbors, will be meeting in our driveway tonight for our annual Halloween Trick or Treat handout. For the past 16 years we’ve set up lawn chairs anxiously waiting to meet our neighborhood children as they come by for candy. The best part is not the costumes (although those are always great!), it’s meeting their parents. Since kids don’t trick or treat alone, like we did when I was young, we enjoy connecting with families we haven’t met and reconnecting with those we don’t get to see often enough. And, we enjoy knowing we give these kids a safe place to trick or treat. Each year we have hundreds (and that’s no exaggeration!) of kids come through our neighborhood.
