Boo’s favorite gym shoes are Converse. I’ve never worn a pair so I can’t attest to their comfort but I can say they’ve been around a long time. Some of you may remember them as “Chuck Taylors”. Chuck Taylor was an American Hall of Fame basketball player and ironically in 1921 became a professional sneaker salesman. This was well before professional basketball players made millions of dollars – obviously. Taylor was so good at promoting the shoe that Converse put his name on the sneaker’s ankle patch. Taylor reportedly took only a salary and didn’t get a commission from the sneakers that had his name on them. Nearly 100 years later these emain the best-selling basketball shoe in history!
Stampin’ Up! even included a look-alike in their Epic Celebration stamp set – among the free selections during Sale-A-Bration! The stamp set also includes a guitar, headphones, a background stamp and a few greetings.

The base of my card uses the new Scattered Sequins Dynamic Embossing Folder. They sure look real, don’t they? I chose to stamp the sneakers on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock then die cut them using the Stitched Shapes square framelit. I used the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends to color them in, adding a bit of Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends under the toes which I muted using the Color Lifter. I’m seriously in love with these alcohol-based markers!

I decided to bling up these sneakers – after all, brides are wearing them under their wedding dresses these days! I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to die cut the words from the Celebrate You Thinlits. I’ve got a quick tip video about die cutting on the Glimmer Paper that you shouldn’t miss. That tip made die cutting these words – and applying them – so much easier.

A scattered sequin background called for a few scattered sequins. I used the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and adhered them to mimic the embossing folder. I’m saving this card for Boo’s birthday. Something tells me she’s going to love it!

Thank you, Bernath!
Great tip about the glimmer paper. Love your card too. So fun to see a feminine twist on this image and I must have that sequin EF! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jennifer! That embossing folder is amazing! The best part is that both sides of the folder are a bit different. Simply invert the card front or flip the cardstock layer over for a different look. So glad you enjoyed the card. This stamp set is lots of fun and something different in our artillery of stamps!
Oh love that tip, thanks Lisa ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
