Can you ever have too much bling? Not when it’s all about the sparkly feathers and beautiful Eastern Palace Designer Papers. This designer paper pattern reminded me of peacock feathers so it was inspiration for this card. The overall card is quite simple. It’s the multitude of layers that make it look so detailed.

The greeting was heat embossing using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. But before I stamped the greeting I used the Embossing Buddy to insure that no flecks of powder would interfere with the detailed script. The Emboss Buddy has an anti-static powder that repels embossing powder where there isn’t ink. Using it faithfully on your heat embossed projects will create a more crisp image.
I’ve got a quick tip video showing the basics of heat embossing and how to use the Embossing Buddy HERE.

There’s an additional layer of designer paper right behind the image that is not from the Eastern Palace Designer Paper Stack. It’s from the Bundle of Love Designer Paper. One of the things I love most about Stampin’ Up! products is the color coordination and that includes the fact that designer papers in one package have the ability to coordinate with another. Mix and match these beautiful papers! And for those of you that hoard designer paper because it’s “too pretty to cut”, I’ve got a motto I’ll share with you – “like it, chop it”.

The gold metallic enamel dots were added to the peacock feathers to bring the gold to the center of the card where you eye will fall. Did I have to put them there? Absolutely not, but I can’t help myself. After all, who can resist sparkly feathers? ((smile))

Thanks for your beautiful card!! I used your design as a base to create a “Thinking of You” card for a friend. Different papers and inks. I’m not good at coming up with designs, but love to put my own twist on something I like!!
