Most stampers have stamps with flowers and butterflies but do you have Chinese takeout boxes and fortune cookies? This adorable stamp set is featured in the Occasions Catalog on page 42. The varied fortune cookie greetings cover birthday, thank you, encouragement and hello. Couple it with the Wood Textures Designer Paper and you’ve got an instant takeout meal.
I’ve included written instructions below for those of you using a mobile device. I also have a free PDF tutorial available for those that would like to download and save this project for a later day.

Supplies:
- Stamp: Fortunate to Know You (wood, 145888, clear 145892)
- Paper: Whisper White (100730); Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack (144177)
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
- Other: Stampin’ Blends Ivory (144606), Stampin’ Blends Light Smoky Slate (145054), Stampin’ Blends Cherry Cobbler Combo (144598) Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Clear Wink of Stella (141897)
Measurements:
- Whisper White (base): 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, folded in half
- Whisper White (layer): 4” x 5 ¼”
- Whisper White: scraps
- Designer Paper (light wood grain of your choice): 2 ¼” x 5 ¼”
- Designer Paper (dark wood grain of your choice): scrap for chopsticks
Instructions:
- Adhere the light wood grain designer paper to the white cardstock layer.
- On scrap white cardstock stamp the takeout box, heart from the takeout box, greeting and two (2) fortune cookies using Memento ink. Cut out the images using your scissors.
- Stamp two sets of the chopsticks on the dark wood grain scrap designer paper using the Memento ink. Cut them out using your scissors.
- Color with the Stampin’ Blends as follows:
- takeout box handle using the Light Smoky Slate
- the shaded lines on the takeout box using the Ivory
- the heart using the Cherry Cobbler Combo
- the fortune cookies using the Ivory
- Adhere the takeout box overlapping the designer paper as shown. Adhere the heart to the takeout box using Mini Dimensionals.
- Adhere one set of chopsticks across the bottom of the takeout box as shown. Cut the other pair of chopsticks shorter and adhere them to the right side of the takeout box as shown.
- Adhere the fortune cookies using Mini Dimensionals in the lower right corner of the designer paper as shown.
- Adhere the greeting to the fortune cookie on the far-left side using Mini Glue Dots.
- Add Clear Wink of Stella to the heart and the cookies.
