I have fond memories of Easter Sundays as a little girl. My sister and I always got new dresses, lace anklet socks and new white patent leather shoes. How many of you remember outfits like this? I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and Easter also was a sure sign of warmer temperatures, tulips that began to sprout and the beloved “you can wear white shoes” season. ((smile)) But more importantly was the celebration of Easter. It’s a time of remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection. That’s definitely something worth celebrating!
Today’s card uses the “The Hold on to Hope” stamp set (Occasions Catalog). The crosses in this Bundle (stamp set and coordinating framelits) are perfect with the Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack. In addition to several images, this stamp set includes beautiful words depicting hope and encouragement. I’m particularly fond of the greeting with the verse of Scripture from Isaiah 46:4.
I’ve included pictures of my card along with cutting dimensions and a list of supplies following the video in this post. Be sure to scroll down to see them. And, before you watch the video I’d like to give you a little disclaimer. Although I teach a “simplified way” to achieve two colors on the floral stamp, in no way is this the only way to achieve a two-color result. I get my hands a bit dirty but it was sure a time saver and the results are equally as beautiful as using a marker. Some things in life are worth getting my hands dirty and this stamp set is certainly one of those things!
Cutting Dimensions
- Crumb Cake cardstock base is cut 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half
- Wood Textures Designer Paper (white wash wood pattern) is cut 4″ x 5 1/2
