There are still some traditions that haven’t been put by the wayside. One of those traditions is party favors. If you’ve attended a wedding or shower you’ve more than likely received a small gift (aka a “party favor”) as a memento of your attendance. Favors also symbolize the host’s appreciation in sharing their celebration. The Mini Silver Gable Boxes in the Occasions Catalog (page 13) are the perfect size for party favors. The boxes are 4″ x 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and are also food safe. They’re perfect for holding chocolate, cookies, gift cards or even small gifts.
Last Monday I held a Facebook Live event and demonstrated how to create a window in these mini gable boxes. I shared two different samples for which the pictures are included below along with supplies and cutting dimensions. I’ve edited the Facebook Live recording for time and content and have included it in this blog post for you.

Cutting Dimensions
- Window Sheet is cut 1 3/4″ x 3″ for both boxes
- The designer paper wrap on the box below measures 1 3/4″ x 12″. Wrap the designer paper around the base of the box and crease at the corners.
- To make sure the designer paper and the opening of the box are aligned, die cut them at the same time with the box as shown in the video. You will need to pass the die through the Big Shot about 2-3 times.
