We’re celebrating some good stuff today! Boo gets the keys to her apartment today and we’re in full swing “move mode”. Boxes have been stacked along walls in several rooms of our house and we will begin helping her move some things in this evening. The big move is on Saturday when we have a handful of 20-something’s to help with the heavy stuff – up three flights of stairs! She chose a unit on the third floor because she loved the floor plan. Nice to be young, huh?!

Celebrations don’t have to be about birthdays. They can include promotions, graduations, retirements and new homes. This is the card I created for her which I plan on leaving on her nightstand on Saturday evening – the first night she’ll be sleeping in her new apartment. The complex she’s chosen to move into is brand spanking new and it’s over-the-top incredible. In fact, her appliances are nicer than mine!
In addition to brand new, fancy appliances, this complex is decked out with an amazing pool, a walking and jogging trail, a self-service pet salon, a state-of-the art gym, a virtual sports room and the list goes on! She’ll definitely be celebrating because there’s lots of good stuff!

I used the Sparkle Embossing Folder for the background and the Picture Perfect Party Designer Paper for the layers. The Stitched Shapes Framelits is one my favorite dies which I used for the stitched square for the focal point on this card. I stamped the candles, cut them out using my scissors (aka “fussy cutting”) and embellished with the mini sequin trim and a few Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins. The adhesive backed sequins and the designer paper are both on the retired list.

Memorial Day weekend will give us ample time to help her move and get settled. We’re excited to see the pieces of our shopping trips put together into her new home. As an only child we are sure there’ll be some adjusting to living on her own but there’s going to be lots of good stuff to celebrate too!

Congrats to Boo on her move into her first apartment. How exciting for all of you!! It sounds so much better than any apartment I ever had as a young career woman. This Picture Perfect paper and sentiments are some of my favorites. Love your card today. It’s perfect for her. Three floors up is a long climb, please remember to not hurt your back. Enjoy your weekend.
Hi HJ! Thank you for the ‘congrats’ for Boo. It’s been an exciting time – and also a time of adjustment. Her new place is amazing! Thanks for your comment about this card. I’ve been careful not to carry too heavy a load going up and down those stairs! 😀
Congratulations on your daughter’s move, it is difficult as parents to think that they will cope on their own but we know we have given them the skills to do this throughout their growing up period with us at home. Now it is their time to fly and your time to enjoy the time alone together again. What a lovely card to leave Boo at home when you leave. :O)
Thank you, Lorraine!
