If you haven’t noticed, nautical themes are huge right now. On a recent outing with Boo we commented on how much decor is centered around coral, fish nets, mermaids and every other nautical image you could imagine. Nautical decor is not for us Floridans anymore!
The mermaid on this card conveys a greeting that’s perfect for your sweetheart or those you’re missing. And who better to deliver your sentiments than a mermaid! ((smile))
I colored the mermaid using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers. Because of their concentration of color, I stamped the image using Memento ink on Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I did fussy cut the mermaid but it wasn’t difficult. If you look closely you’ll see that I didn’t bother cutting between her hair and her shoulders.
The Stampin’ Blends are due back in the Stampin’ Up! warehouse any time now so keep watch on my online store HERE. You’ll love using them for their consistent color and ease. I have several videos on using the Stampin’ Blends that will provide lots of tips and tricks:

I used the Champagne Foil for the border along the Pool Party cardstock to create a bit of shimmer because I knew I wanted to use some sequins. I always imagined areas in the ocean having a bit of shimmer.
The Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Paper and this stamp set “Message in a Bottle” are both on the retiring products list. As a reminder, products are only available while supplies last or May 31. All my online ordering REWARDS apply, too. Check out my generous REWARDS program HERE.

Thank you Lisa for this card design, I have the Myths and Magic stamp/die and DSP so I could make some of this type of card quite easily. I love alcohol markers too. :O)
