Did you know that Stampin’ Up! is the largest manufacturer of photopolymer stamps in the United States? The additives placed in their photopolymer provides for a clear, non-yellowing impression that makes these stamps easy to use. No wonder why they’re #1! Today’s tip for 2-step photopolymer stamping will provide you with even better alignment.

I’m using the Abstract Impressions stamp set for this example but this tip can be used with any 2-step photopolymer stamp set.

Your stamps will arrive on a clear imaging sheets. One side is printed with the image of the stamp. Often times you’ll notice a small “carrot” or arrow that indicates a certain position on the stamp. If you look closely at the stamp set, you’ll find these carrots/arrows on several coordinating images. These indications show you where the two stamps align. In the picture below you can see that both roses have this indication.

Once the stamps are removed from the imaging sheet you’re challenged to remember where that alignment is. And that’s not an easy feat when you’re inking up your stamp and more than likely, slightly moving it as you ink.

Here’s a remedy. Use a black Sharpie marker and make a small dot on the flat side of the photopolymer where it coordinates with the carrot/arrow on the imaging sheet.

Do this for both 2-step photopolymer coordinating images. There will be a solid image and an outline image. Some stamp sets event have a 3rd image. When you remove the stamps from the imaging sheet you’ll know exactly where that indication is.

This tip is better explained in the quick tip video below. Take a look! I promise this will revolutionize your 2-step photopolymer stamping!
