Today’s video features a fun and fancy card – what I’m calling a triangle fold intersecting card. This is also known as a diagonal fold card . The video walks you through, step-by-step how to create the cuts, folds and intersection. I used circle punches for the closure but you can easily change it up using die cut shapes. Another fun feature of this fold is that it creates two cards with two scores lines and a single cut.

Special thanks to my customer Anna Garmon for the idea! In March, after my mother-in-law passed away, she created a similar triangle fold intersection card. I loved the intersecting closure and wanted to share with you how to create it.

Be sure to scroll down to view the pictures, cutting dimensions and supplies. I also created a picture collage of this project for you so you can pin it to your card making Pinterest board.

Cutting Dimensions

  • So Saffron cardstock base is 8 1/2″ x 11″. Score the cardstock in half in both directions – 5 1/2″ and 4 1/4″
  • Cut the So Saffron cardstock in half on the diagonal. This will produce two scored and cut cards.
  • Garden Impressions designer paper is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″. Cut on the diagonal. If your pattern paper has a direction you will have to adapt the flaps to accommodate.
  • Whisper White cardstock strip is cut 1/2″ x 6″
  • Whisper White cardstock inside layer is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″

This picture collage is perfect for your Pinterest board. Save it for later reference so you can easily recreate it.
