Card Stock | Storage of Scraps it may not sound exciting but we can all agree that storage is always an issue for paper crafters. I don’t know about you, but I’ve arranged and rearranged more times than I can count over the years. As my inventory of cardstock has grown, my storage space felt smaller and smaller. One of the most challenging storage issues has been cardstock scraps.

While there are many ways of cardstock storage, this one has worked perfectly for me for 20 years. This Smead Tuff Expanding File has 31 pockets and holds an abundance of cardstock scraps and has withstand thousands and thousands of wrestling. It’s incredibly portable, too. I’ve moved it to stamping crops and friend’s homes by simply cinching the accordion pockets together and using a large rubber band to keep them compressed. 

This storage idea was actually designed for bill sorting (hence the 31 pockets) and I simply adapted it to hold cardstock scraps by placing repositionable Post-it Tabs on each of the pockets. I created a Word document to print out the names of each color and labeled them in alphabetical order. I’ve seen paper crafters sort their storage by color family and it all works. I always say “it’s not wrong if it’s your system!”.
