This split image card is a fun card making technique that will make you look like a pro!
This technique is best when used with an outline stamp image. The bonus is that you’ll only need to color half! I’ve used Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers but you can use watercolor pencils, colored pencils, watercoloring or dye-based markers. Choose a coloring medium you enjoy then sit down to a few minutes of therapeutic coloring!
The Stitched Rectangle dies (page 196) are one of my favorite die sets. The graduated sizes make it easy to layer and create trendy stitched layers.
You can choose any die shape and then temporarily anchor it to the additional white cardstock layer prior to stamping. I provide a great tip on how to provide temporary adhesion in the video below.
If you choose to use alcohol-based markers, like I have, be certain to use Thick Whisper White cardstock. The pictures shown here are using regular Whisper White cardstock but once you see the completed image in the video you’ll understand why the thicker cardstock is a must. When experimenting with techniques, don’t skimp on using the right products. It makes a huge difference!
Cutting Dimensions
- Bermuda Bay cardstock base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock layer is cut 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Thick Whisper White cardstock was used for the Stitched Rectangle dies – watch the video for more details
