Let’s talk about how to make unique teacher gifts that impress! Here in Florida, the kids have been back in school since the second week of August. Most parents were (or are) busy preparing for their student’s return to school. Between shopping for backpacks, lunch boxes and school clothes/uniforms, you’ve had little time to even think about putting together a small gift for your child’s new teacher.

I’m providing you with two ideas that are quick and easy. In fact, your student can help you create them. The first idea is a simple back-to-school card. A simple appreciation goes a long way with teachers, who, just like your child, are also starting a new school year.

My second idea is corner bookmaker that you can help them fold and they can decorate. I’m providing several samples for the bookmarker and the card in today’s video. I’ve also included pictures, cutting dimensions and supplies below so be sure to scroll down to see them.

Remember, it’s never too late to say “I appreciate you” and these teacher gifts are sure to bring a smile to your child or grandchild’s teacher!

Teacher Gifts Details

Idea #1 The “Check You Out” stamp set (page 58) not only provides an array of images and greetings, great to create teacher and student cards, but the stamp set itself would make a great gift for your child’s teacher. Consider purchasing it for teacher appreciation, Christmas gifts or even their birthday.

Teacher Gifts like this cute card are sure to bring a smile and encouragement to the day!

Even if you don’t have school-age children or teachers to consider, this card layout is perfect for any type of occasion. Substitute the stamped images for balloons, flowers or anything else that fits the occasion of your card.

It’s the little details that make a card special. Did you notice the glossy finish on the glasses? I used Fine-Tip Glue for the lenses and allowed them to sit and dry. When finished, this added detail provides amazing texture – perfect for vases or to highlight special images like balloons or flowers. I share lots of details about using the Fine-Tip Glue for this technique in today’s video.

Cutting Dimensions

  • Whisper White cardstock base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/2″
  • Designer Paper is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Balmy Blue cardstock strip is cut 2″ x 4″
  • Whisper White cardstock strip is cut 2 1/8″ x 4″
  • Whisper White tag is cut 2″ x 4 1/4″
  • I used 5″ of ribbon for the knot

Idea #2 Whether you choose to include this corner bookmaker with a card or not, this simple fold requires no adhesive. The folds are simple enough that older school children can create and decorate them. Consider this as a fun and busy rainy day project where they can create a stack of these to give their teacher.

Looking for teacher gift ideas? This cute corner bookmark is easy to make!

I used printer paper to create my corner bookmark but I’ve also included samples for vellum cardstock and designer paper. Since vellum cardstock and designer paper are thicker than printer paper, pay close attention to creating crisp folds and alignment. Yep, there are more tips in the video on this, too!

  • Designer Paper bookmark uses a 4″ x 4″ piece of double-sided paper
