Handmade Christmas Card Details
Have you been saving up those strips of cardstock and designer paper knowing someday you’d use them? This easy layout is a great way to put those scraps to good use. Concerned about how to cut the angles? Watch the video for a great tip!
This simple layer had a lot of ‘white space’ so I opted to add decorative strips of Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow cardstock. While the beautifully embossed holly and greeting are the focal point, I found the background was still too plain. That’s when the thought of splattering came to mind – with a twist!
I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a few drops of water and my Aqua Painter to splatter the Whisper White cardstock. I added gold embossing powder and heat set the droplets. I’ve got tips about this technique in today’s video that will make creating this carefree technique easy.

Cutting Dimensions
- Mossy Meadow cardstock base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock layer is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Thick Whisper White cardstock was used to stamp and emboss the holly image
