Although this technique requires the use of an embossing folder you will not need your embossing machine! Choose your favorite embossing folders and turn them into background stamps using an ink pad or ink spot.
Paper Pumpkin is a monthly paper crafting subscription (details HERE) that include a limited edition stamp set and a new color ink spot (think mini ink pad!) each month. The kit also includes pre-cut supplies and simple photo directions for a creative escape. Leave all the designing and preparation to the kit!
I love the ink spots for several reasons. They are the perfect size for my Stamparatus stamp positioning tool, for techniques and are easy to pack. I hate leaving my stamping supplies behind and thanks to Paper Pumpkin’s ink spots I’ve got a wonderful collection of colors for when I’m “on the go”. And they can be re-inked using the same ink refills!
The video demonstration uses one ink color but I wanted to share this sample which uses three. To achieve a multi-color palette, tap the ink spot randomly on the raised side of your embossing folder (what the video for some tips about this!). Start with the lightest color first and move toward the darker shades you will be adding. Keep in mind that colors will change when bled together. For example, yellow and blues will make green.
The Thank You Dies are a wonderful – and overlooked – product in the annual catalog. This trendy script is perfect for gratitude cards whether for men or women, young or old. I adhered them using Fine-Tip Glue on a vellum stitched circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies – one of my very favorite die sets here in the stamp studio!

I am having trouble understanding all the lingo. I want to understand and learn the stamping. Wish there was a phone #. I could talk with some one and order what I need to be able to begin. Jeanne Brown.
Thanks so much for visiting this video!! I suggest start with a black ink pad, white cardstock, and a stamp set. You can then stamp and color with what you have on hand. A paper trimmer is a must with card making. Watching videos can help learn all the tools and different techniques. Hope this helps!! Don’t be afraid to play with the products you may have and create!!
