Lovely Christmas Card – Details
This pinwheel card technique works perfectly with any designer paper and any theme. The Let it Snow Specialty Designer Paper has double-sided designs which allow for year-round use. One side includes glittery images with a fun winter theme. Mix and match your designer paper squares for a dramatic look.
The pinwheel effect is so unique that I hated to cover it up. Instead I opted to adhere a small punched circle using a Dimensional then added a small piece of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon.
With ample space at the bottom of the card, you can add a multitude of greetings. Try mixing and matching text and ink colors for a dramatic look!
Cutting Dimensions
- Real Red cardstock base is cut 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock is cut 4″ x 10 1/2″, score at 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock (base for the designer papers) – cut 2 each at 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″
- Let it Snow Specialty Designer Paper is cut 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
Idea #2
The Kindness & Compassion stamp (page 76 of the annual catalog) includes elegant script greetings for both the outside and the inside of your cards. Greetings include thank you and sympathy. I chose to heat emboss the image using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The striking Perennial Essence Designer Paper (page 166 of the annual catalog) stands out beautifully with the white cards base and embossed greeting, don’t you think?
Idea #3
My final card includes an additional layer behind the pinwheel that the previous two cards do not include. This additional layer will require two pieces of coordinating colored cardstock measuring 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″. Adhere them to the Whisper White cardstock pieces individually to insure an even layer.
The Bird Ballard suite of products used for this card (Designer Paper and trinkets) can be found on pages 90-93 of the annual catalog.
