Nifty Birthday Card Details
The gorgeous Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Paper includes gold foil accents on one side and a neutral pattern on the other. Some of the patterns can be used all year long – just like the Christmas Rose stamp set. Don’t forget, the Christmastime is Here suite of products are only available while supplies last. If you want to know how to make a birthday card they’ll love this is a great place to start!
You’ll need two contrasting patterns of designer paper to achieve these stunning results. The beauty of Stampin’ Up!’s designer paper is the double-sided patterns. I simply cut four squares and flipped two of them over and used the alternate side.
The Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder (Holiday Catalog) includes beautiful intricate designs that work perfectly with this designer paper. I opted to emboss one layer of the cardstock before adhering my squares for added texture. Don’t forget the bling! A large gold faceted gem works perfectly in the center of the patchwork technique and plays up the gold foil accents in the designer paper.
Nifty Birthday Card Dimensions

- Designer Paper – cut 2 pieces from one pattern measuring 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
- Designer Paper – cut 2 different pieces from one pattern measuring 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
- Mossy Meadow cardstock layer to hold the designer paper pieces is measured 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Patchwork Card – Idea #2
Using the exact same designer paper, I changed up the focal image from the gold faceted gem to an image from the coordinating Christmas Rose stamp set. This mixed media stamp set includes both an outline image and Distinktive images that fill the pieces of the outline stamp, making this set perfect for those that like to color and those that don’t!
There are a few minor changes on this card. I exchange the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder for the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder and added a white embossed greeting. You might also notice that I exchanged the colors of the layers that house the designer paper. Experiment to create your own unique palette!
