Card Cut Out Shapes Details
The new Mini Catalog is loaded with great products and inspiration – 75 pages to be exact! The Forever Blossoms Bundle (stamp set + coordinating dies) caught my eye immediately. While the stamp set and dies are intuitive to use, I decided to use a single, simple image from the stamp set to create this fun cut out shape card.
The Basic Patterns Decorative Masks (aka “stencils”) create easy and effortless backgrounds. I share lots of tips about using these stencils in today’s video!
I purposely created areas of light and dark tones for a dramatic feel. The Sponge Dauber allowed me to control the coverage to create my desired look.
Craft ink is pigment based and typically used for heat embossing. I was after a look that was muted and aged, more of a chalky look so I used the ink alone, without embossing and allowed it to dry. Pigments inks do take longer to dry so I recommend stamping those areas first and setting it aside while you work on the rest of your card.
The small holes were created using the 1″ Circle Punch but consider using other size and shape punches as well as dies. I’m sharing numerous tips about coloring with the Stampin’ Blends Markers and aligning the layers for this card. Be sure to watch the video for all these tips and more!

While the layout and cut out sizes are the same on this meerkat card, the color palette boasts Pool Party and Bermuda Bay cardstock. I used the Watercolor Pencils to color in the meerkats – quick and easy!
And don’t forget the bling! I added a variation of sequins on both of today’s cards.
