I’ve got a seriously easy greeting card you’ll love learning how to make! A couple of inks, a mask and you’ve got a beautiful card!

This Joseph’s Coat technique adds a new twist a card making idea because it uses Versamark ink over a stencil. It’s a flawless technique that’s perfect for both beginners and avid stampers.

I’ve included pictures, cutting dimensions and supplies below the video so be sure to scroll down to see them.

Seriously Easy Greeting Card Technique You’ll Love

Typically the Joseph’s Coat technique uses stamped images over a colored background. Today’s video will teach you how to use your masks, also known as stencils, to create the same effect. It’s a great way to expound your card making techniques!

The first step to this technique is choosing your colors. Be cautious to choose colors that will blend well with one another. For example, I’ve used Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana on this card. When blended together they make a gorgeous shade of green.

Once the ink has been applied you’ll add your mask/stencil and apply Versamark ink. Use clear embossing powder then heat set using the Heat Tool. The final step is where the WOW factor comes in!

Use a sponge brayer to add layers of black ink. Yes, black ink! The ink will resist the areas that are embossed, allowing the colored cardstock to peek through. And don’t miss the final step to add luster to your card – buffing! I’ve loaded this video with valuable tips so you can enjoy this fun twist on the Joseph’s Coat technique.
