The first step to this technique is choosing your colors. Be cautious to choose colors that will blend well with one another. For example, I’ve used Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana on this card. When blended together they make a gorgeous shade of green.
Once the ink has been applied you’ll add your mask/stencil and apply Versamark ink. Use clear embossing powder then heat set using the Heat Tool. The final step is where the WOW factor comes in!
Use a sponge brayer to add layers of black ink. Yes, black ink! The ink will resist the areas that are embossed, allowing the colored cardstock to peek through. And don’t miss the final step to add luster to your card – buffing! I’ve loaded this video with valuable tips so you can enjoy this fun twist on the Joseph’s Coat technique.
