Simple Fun Fold Card – Idea #2
The Forever Blossoms stamp set is part of the Parisian Blossom suite of products. These gorgeous flowers have a realistic appearance. Heighten the look by adding a bit of color using the Stampin’ Blends Markers.
The gorgeous frame is from the Ornate Layers Dies. This product, along with numerous others, are all part of a special promotion this month for the Ornate Garden suite that debuts in the new catalog. The designer paper, Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon and Champagne Rhinestones are also part of the Parisian Blossoms Suite.
Instead of using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, which I typically do when using the alcohol-based Stampin’ Blends Markers, I opted for Basic Gray. The black appeared to harsh for this subtle color palette. I love the difference this simple ink change made!

Love this concept. I have made something similar and call it a notebook fold. One of the things I like is that it allows you to use square card designs on a card that fits nicely in an A2 envelope. Square cards can be put in A2 envelopes but I don’t like the card having potential to slide around in the envelope.
Hope this past Saturday went well! So many of my fave paper rafters together for a single event:)
Thanks for stopping by Trish. To help keep the smaller square card from sliding in the envelope, I place a postcard or a piece of cardstock/cardboard inside with it. That extra paper helps absorb the space. Have fun stamping with friends!
I’d never made one with a book spine before and needed one for a friend who lot her nearly 20 year old furry friend. Your idea came in handy this morning. I love it!
I’m so happy to read that this idea was timely for you, Vicki! Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful cards, Lisa. I love the added interest of the extra scored line. Great video. Be well. Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! Have a great rest of your week!
Hi Lisa – I recently spent a most enjoyable Saturday with you and the other gals and wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that you made a very positive impression on me….the whole group was wonderful and you can certainly tell by the dynamics that you are friends and get along well. Without boring you with details, I met Brandy years ago through Stampin’ Up and absolutely loved her….so much so that I would travel from Asheville to Mooresville to play cards when she would have class. It was always a highlight to spend time with her. After receiving a devastating diagnosis of FTD, I threw in the towel (and the stamps and my stamping buddies!), weathered the collapse of my 31 year marriage to my one and only beloved, moved to a ‘retirement village’ out of Asheville and decided to live my life to the absolute fullest within God’s framework for me. So, I went to Brandy’s website and found out about ya’ll’s card marathon and jumped right on it! I’m so very glad I did and can’t wait for the next installment in July!
Anyway Lisa, I have learned that it is important to speak up when you have something to say while you have the chance and I really wanted you to know that I am crazy about your cards, your presentation and explanations, your warm personality and your sincerity. I feel very blessed to have met you through the wonderful workshop. Lou Davis
Hi Louisa! I’m so happy to read that you enjoyed the Creativate Team Online Retreat. We had so much fun doing and will be hosting another in July. I hope you’ll plan to join us for more fun and inspiration. Thank you for the kind and thoughtful words. You’ll never know how much they mean to me. Stay well and keep stamping!
Really liked bothe cards!
A nice and easy fun fold that I will use!
So glad you like it, Connie. Thank you for coming by!
Hi Lisa! This week is the first time I’ve been here or watched your videos. Now it’s midnight, and I can’t stop watching! You certainly know a lot of tips–which everyone can use!
I have been making cards for close to 30 years. I have never seen this particular style card! I love the binder area where the ribbon goes! It is nice not having the under side of the ribbon showing on the inside!
I especially liked the peach color card with the flower stamp and funky die cut! I’m curious if the bg is made of real words or something that looks like it is handwriting, but not legible words.
I do have one question for you at this time. I don’t know if you answer them or not. Sometimes, I use old brads I have from days gone by. I may use them on the sentiment, perhaps–to the right and left side. Do you have any idea how to cover up the sharp posts on the back of the page? It is an eyesore! I have glued a solid piece of paper over that entire side, but still leaves a very recognizable bump. I would greatly appreciate any guidance you may have for me. Thank you so very much!
Hi Traci! I’m so glad you’ve found my website. Even happier that you’re enjoying what and how I share. I love to stamp and glad it shows. Brads can be a bit persnickety when using them on your card base. The only way around having them leave the ‘bump’ you’ve described or by covering the inside with cardstock is to use them on a layer vs. the card base and use Dimensionals to elevate the panel. I realize, though, that sometimes that’s not a reasonable solution when you want to use the brad on the card base itself. Thanks again for coming by!
