I’m going to show you how to make a birthday card to amaze them! We’re going to use acetate sheets (window sheets) for a creative, distinctive card! It’s the perfect DIY birthday card for a friend!

Let me teach you how to make this birthday card step-by-step using acetate for your card base. This is definitely a birthday card that will amaze them!

How to Make a Birthday Card: Details

This set includes stamps and dies for birds, eggs, a nest, branches and borders (page 120 of the annual catalog). Whether you decide to add color using markers or pencils, or choose the solid coordinating image to add color, you’ll find this stamp set easy to use. Great for anyone and any occasion.

Take a closer look at the nest in the picture below. I used a Sponge Dauber to add a darker shade to the inked image for a realistic two-tone look. All the details are in today’s video.

Instead of adhering the designer paper layer to the outside of the acetate card base, I opted to place it on the inside. This is a fun way to use double-sided designer paper and allows the outside images to really pop on the clear acetate!

So Saffron (greeting): 1/2″ x 2 1/4″

How to Make a Birthday Card: Idea #2

Unlike the first card, the layers are added to the front of this card. The Forever Greenery Suite of products (page 108) includes gold laser-cut papers, embossing folders and accessories.

The Greenery Embossing Folders come in a two-pack including two different patterns. Mix and match with the coordinating Forever Greenery Designer Paper and you’ll have gorgeous cards that require nothing more than a greeting!

When adhering the inside layers of your card, be sure to align them so they’ll be hidden behind the card front. Proper alignment allows the acetate border to provide a beautiful presentation to your card.
