Watercolor Lifting | Thank You Card
If you think creating an ombre finish on your cards is difficult, think again! This technique is not only flawless but ombre tones are revealed with – ready – WATER! This thank you card was created using a custom handmade background stamp. It’s a tip in the video that you won’t want to miss. Now you can use any size images to create stunning backgrounds.
In addition to the simplicity of this technique you’re going to love the options it leaves you! Not only can you choose the stamps and theme you can experiment with color combinations! Take a simple color palette and expound on the tones!
Watercolor Lifting | Note Card
I recommend creating this technique on a larger piece of watercolor paper. Trimming it down to fit your desired card size and layout will leave you with leftover pieces that can create additional cards. It’s a two-for-one! These strips were leftovers from the thank you card above.
Watercolor Lifting | Birthday Card
I created this technique on a full piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. This 100% cotton paper has a natural white finish with a subtle texture. It’s not only acid free but the gelatin sizing allows you great control while keeping the colors vibrant. Don’t skimp on the watercolor paper for this technique. It makes a huge difference!
This birthday card showcases just one area of the full sheet I created above leaving me enough leftover to make multiple cards with this layout. Shades of purple are widely popular since they are non-gender specific. Which color combination will you try?
Watercolor Lifting | Get Well Card
Looking to lift someone’s spirits? This stunning jewel tones in green showcase the gold foil die cut leaves perfectly! Don’t hide those gorgeous backgrounds! Keep the focal point and/or greeting to a minimum or use dies that are open to allow the colors to show through.

It Is such a coincidence that you shared a heat embossed card today. I have been hoping for something from you since the partial die cut with forever ferns, my very favorite card of all. I love to make cards that require time and thought rather than making a card that takes 15 minutes to put together. It’s why I chose you as the best demonstrator. I have only been at this for a little over a year but you are amazing and your helpful tips on money saving ideas is truly appreciated. Thank you for sharing your creative gift in card making.
