Fun Fold Card | Whimsical Trees
Shimmery and simple designer papers are well represented in the Peaceful Place designer paper. This specialty paper includes foil accents on one of the double-sided patterns. This allows the perfect shimmer and icy feel for holiday cards while the reverse side can be used for generic cards.
This pop up card is very unique in that it provides diagonal overlays with simple layers of cardstock. The fun twist in this card is how it’s cut. It’s all one piece!
I added silver heat embossed details to the tree. It adds a bit of sparkle without taking away from this gorgeous designer paper. If you’re new to heat embossing, you can learn all about it by CLICKING HERE.
If you like shimmer you won’t want to miss the Metallic Mesh Ribbon. The ribbon is very pliable making it easy to use. I chose to cut a strip and zig-zag the ribbon behind the tree to highlight the embossing and the tree topper. Christmas cards can never have too much sparkle, can they?
Fun Fold Card | Hand Penned
Looking for a non-seasonal card idea? This one uses the ever-popular Hand Penned stamp set. The coordinating designer paper has a feminine spring-time feel that’s perfect for cards throughout the year.
Unlike my first card, the front panel is a circle. Experiment with different shape dies to house images and greetings. Layered between the smaller diamond-shape panels, this card packs quite the punch!
Spruce up that pull out panel with a small greeting. I continued the circle theme from the front of this card by adding the greeting in a few small layered circles. The Layering Circles Dies get a big workout here in the Studio and it’s one of my favorites.
Don’t miss my tips in today’s video about positioning for the inside greeting. Too high or too wide and it will show from the front when the card is closed.
