Today’s card background design using a unique embossing technique. Did you know you can dry emboss using dies? Not only does this create unique card making backgrounds, it also provide fantastic texture.
When we think “embossing a card” there are two card making techniques that come to mind. One uses an embossing folder and the other a heat tool. Today’s DIY card design ideas will have you looking at your dies in a whole new way. The only tools you’ll need are your Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine and a Silicone Sheet.

Embossing Details
January 4, 2022 is a big day in the paper crafting and Stampin’ Up! world as the new Mini Catalog debuts! This 91-page publication is filled with new products and samples and among them is the new Rainbow of Happiness Bundle.
To create this unique background I used the cloud dies in the Brilliant Rainbow Dies to create an embossed background. The best part about this technique is that it allows you to use the same dies that you’ve incorporated in your card.
Embossing tip: Be sure to spritz the cardstock lightly with water to avoid excessive cracking of the paper as it’s embossed. Today’s video provides great tips!

Use the larger dies in this Bundle to create an even bolder, background. The arch rainbow die is perfect to fill the cardstock and leave a simple cloud border.
Wondering where the clouds came from? The Basic Borders Dies are a favorite of mine. This set of dies includes 6 different designs perfect to use in a variety of ways.

If love florals and the romantic look of designer papers you’re going to love the Heart & Home Suite. These products will be found on pages 58-61 of the new Mini Catalog on January 4, 2022.
I used the detailed floral dies to create this embossed background. Paired with this beautiful designer paper I opted for pastel shades of the same color. Stampin’ Up!’s color coordination is second to none!
