Birthday Card | Sweet Songbird
Fun fold cards are my favorite type of card to make. I love the excitement when someone receives my card and asks “how did you do that?”! It provides the perfect opportunity for me to share the joy of card making with them.
This new Bundle of product debuts on May 3, 2022 in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and is called Sweet Songbird. The stamp set and coordinating Songbird Builder Punch) can be found on page 31. These adorable images were an immediate ‘must have’ for me.
Using a spring combination of Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Old Olive provided the perfect coordination to the new Design a Daydream Designer Series Papers. The 48-sheet pack of designer paper is FREE when placing a $150+ product order (before shipping and tax) beginning May 2 as part of the Stampin’ Rewards. Don’t miss it, along with the the other “host” exclusive products on page 179 of the annual catalog.
Birthday Card | Friends Are Like Seashells
If you love the pastel colors of the beach you’re going to love the new Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper. This new 6″ x 6″ stack of papers includes tea motif on one side and generic patterns that can be used all year round on the other. I paired them with the Design A Daydream Designer Series Paper for this card. You must admit, Stampin’ Up!’s color coordination makes creating easy!
A simple color palette can always be enhanced with some sparkle! I used Wink of Stella on the die cut shells and greenery to create a beautiful ocean-y shimmer. Not sure how to use Wink of Stella? Click HERE to watch a quick tip video.
Graduation season is upon us and I couldn’t resist using this diamond pivot panel for a graduation cap. This simple card uses the limited time All Together Designer Series Paper (one of my favorites that I’m mourning over) that retires on May 3. Click HERE to check out the timeless black and white patterns.
Planning a graduation for a family member or friend just got a easier! Use these high-quality tassels for your handmade cards, announcements, wrapping silverware and so much more. I’ve linked the tassels used on my card HERE! One package includes 20 tassels for under $7!. With 11 colors to choose from, I’m confident you’ll find a one to coordinate with your graduates school colors!
Birthday Card by Gina
Gina told me she fell in love with the colors in the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. Available on May 3 and featured on page 132 of the new Annual Catalog, she’s paired them with the Hues of Happiness Suite (page 108-109).
The Happiness Abounds Bundle ( stamp set + coordinating dies) include beautifully drawn roses in various sizes and shapes. Paired with 7 different, exquisite mixed-font greetings and greenery images you’ll be creating gorgeous floral cards in minutes!
He’s the Man
Father’s Day is around the corner and whether you’re looking for a handmade card for a Dad, a grandfather or even a masculine birthday card, you’re going to love the new He’s the Man Suite (page 78-79). This Suite of products includes timeless masculine imager, coordinating dies, Rustic Metallic Dots and designer paper that includes two 12″ x 12″ pages of printed die-cut sheets.
Gina heat embossed one of the stamp images on Early Espresso cardstock with white embossing powder to play up the colors in the designer papers. The use of the twine is exceptional and provides for added texture and rugged appearance.
Bottled Happiness
Gina’s final card uses the new Bottled Happiness stamp set (page 16). This stamp set is also available as a Bundle to include the coordinating Vintage Bottle Punch. You’ll be seeing more of this Bundle in upcoming projects because it’s becoming a fan-favorite here in the Studio.
One of the key features of this stamp set is the two-step stamping. One image is stamped in greens for the leaves and a separate image houses the florals. Don’t miss the video to see how Gina quickly and easily obtained multiple colors on the single floral stamp!
The inside cover of this card is the perfect place to include a pocket for a gift card. Great for birthdays and also perfect for graduation cards and showers. You’ll find the gift card holder (pocket) cutting dimensions in today’s project sheet.
Gina’s the first one to tell you she loves fussy cutting (using her scissors) – she got that from me! We both find it therapeutic and allows you to look at images in an entirely new way. Consider snipping away branches and leaves to make smaller images to custom fit your project!

Lisa…wonderful cards and you created a fabulous stamp set…and with DIES!!! Wowzers! Mega fantastic! (Congratulations, by the way.)
I do have a question: I’m interested in making the graduation cards first. I read in the comments that a black card stock circle was punched for the “button”. That’s helpful…but what did you use to punch the circle?? Hope you can answer soon because I’ve procrastinated…as usual… EEK!
Bonnie happy to have you stop by to watch!! You can use a circle punch or small circle die to cut that “button”. I have a retired small punch maybe about 3/4″ that I used. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your response!
I suppose that explains it. I just don’t have a circle punch or die that small, I’ve been getting things from SU for only 1 1/2 years. The smallest circle I have is 1 1/4″ or more. It’s bigger than I like, but may have to do–unless you have some more recent suggestions. ???
I think I’ve figured something that will work. The inside circle (almost!) that is in the middle of the “O” in the Playful Alphabet dies.
But another question: How did you secure your tassel? What alterations (if any) did you make before its final attachment to the card? I’m playing around with things, but it would be nice not to have to reinvent the wheel if it’s already been invented! Thanks again for your help.
Bonnie I used a combination of a glue dot and a full sized dimensional to secure the tassel! Hope this helps!! Have fun making your graduation card!!
Bonnie I see above you figured out your issue!!
