Let’s DIY a handmade Christmas card that’s both easy and unique. This offset gate fold provides great space for the use of your designer papers and includes a surprise card element once opened.
I love the element of surprise that fun fold cards provide and this one includes a center lift card that’s part of the interior. The best part about my Christmas card is that it can be used all year round for various occasions, even invitations and announcements. Consider adding this fun fold and to your scrapbooking by adhering it to one layout for added space to journal or provide photos.

DIY Handmade Christmas Card | Christmas Lights
If you’re looking for a dynamic duo for your holiday cards don’t overlook the Lights Aglow Suite on page 30-33 of the Mini Catalog. There are two Bundles available, each with specific stamps and coordinating dies plus an array of coordinating papers, gems and ribbon.
Lights Aglow is a 6″ x 6″ package of designer paper that includes 48 sheets; 4 each of 12 different designs. Packed with power, these double-sided papers include foil accents on one side and the reverse side includes muted holiday colors. I’ll admit, I’ve used several of the alternate sides for birthday cards, too!
This fun fold card packs a lot of pizzazz with an interior card. There’s lots of space to showcase your designer papers and added space to include an inside sentiment, too.
Once the interior card is lifted, there’s additional space for writing, a holiday family photo or consider using this layout for a wedding invitation or baby announcement.
Santa’s Delivery
Looking for whimsical images that the kids (or kids at heart) will enjoy? The Santa’s Delivery Bundle can be found on page 18 of the Mini Catalog. Like the Lights Aglow, this stamp set is part of an entire Suite called Santa Express that pairs with coordinating designer paper, printed cards and envelopes, trimmings and embossing folders.
I find coloring therapeutic using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers. I colored the images in and cut them out using their coordinating dies. If you’re new to the Stampin’ Blends markers you’ll enjoy my YouTube playlist on various ways to use them. CLICK HERE to view the video list.
These double-sided papers include cartoonage images on one side and generic holiday patterns on the reverse. There’s good reason why Stampin’ Up! has been named the best designer paper for years. Their color coordination and detail to the double-sided patterns allows you to utilize most patterns well outside their theme.
This same fun fold looks entirely different when turned in sideways. This orientation allows you to fit those longer images easily!
I created the snow banks by tearing layers of cardstock. CLICK HERE for my YouTube shorts video to learn how. It’s not only easy but a great technique for landscapes and beach scenes.
I opted to leave the inside panels of this card free from designer paper but you can see how nicely photos will fit.
DIY Handmade Christmas Card | Jar of Flowers
Classy and romantic is what I call the Jar of Flowers stamp set. It pairs perfectly with the Jar Punch to create beautiful bouquets in minutes. Mix and match your designer papers for this card layout and coordinate the colors to your flowers.
The Stampin’ Blends Light Natural Toones coordinate perfectly with the Blushing Bride designer paper pattern found in the Awash in Beauty package.
Sunny Sentiments greetings are varied and bold which provide the perfect impact to the inside card panel.
Whether you choose a belly band for your card, ribbon or a magnetic closure, you can’t go wrong with this amazing fun fold card layout.
