Today’s 3D balcony card uses designer paper to cover the background to the amazing step card features of this fun fold.
Create this tiered card using strips of cardstock that strategically connect to the card base. When opened, the card provides the surprise of pop up cards! Choose images that tier well and you’ll have an amazing 3D cardmaking design in minutes!

Balcony Card | Cheerful Basket
Talk about cheerful! This adorable cat begs for attention as it peeks out of this 3D basket.
Butterfly Kisses is one of those designer papers that I’ll greatly miss on May 2 when the new catalog debuts. The bright colors and double-sided, generic patterns have made it a go-to DSP for me. Be sure to check out the Last Chance Products List before the retiring products are gone forever.
The die cut vellum circle provides the perfect separation between the image and the designer paper. The Full Basket Dies include both an outline die for the stamp imand and a 3D die to make this basket. I added additional ink using a Sponge Dauber to bring out the embossed details in this die.
3D View
Elevate images by adding a small tab using a strip of cardstock. All the details and tips are in today’s video.
Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers provide flawless color details. Check out my entire YouTube playlist to learn various ways of using these alcohol-based markers. Click HERE.
While this card fits in an A2 envelope, it will require additional postage due to the tiers. But I think you’ll agree, it’s totally worth it!
Balcony Card | Share a Milkshake
Everyone loves a sweet treat from time to time and the Share a Milkshake Bundle provides both ice cream and milk shake images with ease!
Let those images pop up to emphasize the steps! Once again, the image tab provides great elevation to fill the negative areas at the top.
Did you notice the cupcake? Trim down the waffle cone die, add the scoop image to represent frosting and you’ll have an additional image to use for birthday and celebration cards all year long.
Don’t forget the straw! Two-step the image by using the solid image stamp in one color and the stripes in another. The coordinating die makes it easy to cut out and slip right into the slit of the whipped cream/scoop.
Balcony Card | Peekaboo Farm
Let designer paper do the work for you! The Rain or Shine designer paper is another favorite of mine because of the variety of patterns and images. These amazing backgrounds allow you to provide minimal additions which are great for quick and simple cards.
Peekaboo Farm includes an array of animals that can be used for any occasion. Delight the young, or young at heart, with these whimsical images peering over the cobblestone wall.
Stampin’ Blends Markers were used for these images and were easy to color. Elevating them on image tabs provides lots of added character to this card.
Check out those tails! I stamped them, cut them out using my scissors and adhered them strategically on separate image tabs. There aren’t dies for this stamp set but each was simple to cut.

Hi! Lisa, I love to make fun fold cards, and yours are always so cute and your instructions are easy to follow. I really like the cat with the basket and had looked at that stamp set a lot thinking I know a lot of people with cats, but just never bought it. I like how you include other cards you make to give us an idea how we can incorporate it with our other stamp sets. Thanks a lot and I am so excited for you to be a Grandma, I have 6 Grandchildren and love them all dearly!
Joan so happy to have you stop by to watch!! Thank you so much and for your sweet story and kind words!! Enjoy your grandchildren!! We are so excited for the arrival of ours!!
Where did you get the Peekaboo farm stamps? I haven’t been able to find it.
