Gate Fold Card | Let’s Go Shopping
Confession time. I love to shop! There’s something about the ‘hunt’ of finding the perfect combination of bargain and what you’re looking for. So it’s no wonder that the Let’s Go Shopping Bundle was high on my priority list. But if I’m being honest, the small pieces intimidated me. That was until I borrowed the Bundle from Gina.
Not only was I pleasantly surprised at the ease of using this Bundle, I fell in love with the versatility! My shopping options didn’t stop at bakeries. I could include make these buildings a bookstore, cafes and so much more! Best of all, there’s coordinating Les Shoppes Designer Paper that works with the dies! So don’t let the small pieces fool you. Stampin’ Up! thought of everything!
This fun fold is comprised of two pieces cut equally from a piece of 8″ x 12″ piece of cardstock. Stock up on some 12″ x 12″ cardstock because I have other fun folds to share using this size cardstock. You’ll find an assortment of colors in 12″ x 12″ plus Basic White and Basic Vanilla all in my online store HERE.
Since this card has a 3D look, I felt the image needed that as well. If you look closely at the side view below, you’ll see that the bakery is suspended from the card base.
I’ve experimented so many ways to find the easiest to creating the angled designer paper layers and the Basic White cardstock on the back. And, in all honesty, sometimes you have to ‘fudge’. Don’t miss the tips I provide in the video to make life so much easier when making these angle cuts. It’s a lot faster than a bunch of fancy math and the risk of not cutting a larger piece of designer paper incorrectly. Trust me. I know!
Gate Fold Card | Earthen Textures
Not only does this stamp set boast texture, so does the pot image I chose to heat emboss on foil cardstock. YES! I heat embossed on foil! The secret to this technique is not to over heat set the paper. The result is stunning since you have the best of both worlds.
I used the Inked Botanicals designer paper for this card. I chose to mix and match the panels, staying in the same color palette. It’s a great way to use up those scraps of too!

We don’t see too many white card bases these days but I found it works well when you’re sticking to a monochromatic color palette. Here I’ve chosen to mix Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. The colors are closely related yet together provide the most dramatic contrast.
White on white panels was a bit too stark for me so I opted to use a Sponge Dauber to add color to the outside edges. It’s been a long-time favorite trick of mine to add simple color to the edges of my cardstock without having to add another layer.
Gate Fold Card | Petal Park
Bubble Bath and Berry Burst are two of my favorite color combinations! Added with the Garden Green card base, these pink tones really pop!
Did you notice the vellum layer behind the greeting? The Sentimental Park Dies coordinate with these products and provide the perfect, soft layer to the label. They’re are included with these dies!
The Petal Park stamp set also has a coordinating ‘sister’ set called Sentimental Park and they work perfectly together. Pair them with the Petal Park Builder Punch and you’ll be creating these adorable flowers in minutes.
If you have lots of designer paper to use up, consider adding additional layers to the inside of this cascading fold. The pop out feature of this card allows lots of options to show gorgeous papers off!
