Use your simple die cuts to create an opening for a beautiful shadowbox card. This fun fold card is perfect to create scenes or greetings to insert a family photo since it stands upright for display.

The unique quality of these handmade cards is that the sides expand and contract allowing it to fit in a standard A2 size envelope. These window cards will take your cardmaking into gift giving this holiday season. Consider a family photo inside the frame or even a gift card. Best of all, there’s plenty of room on the backside for a sentiment and handwritten message.

Shadow Box Card | Rustic Crate

The Rustic Crate Bundle (stamp set + coordinating dies) can be used all year long. With three different focal point images and greetings you’ll be making cards for all seasons of the year.

The side areas of this fun fold can be adorned with scrap strips of designer paper to create a cohesive look from the front to the back. I took it a step further and added a panel inside to compliment the Fall feel of this card.

The natural ribbon on this card is bulky which will require extra postage but be sure to watch the video and see this ribbon’s counterpart which is a gorgeous copper lame ribbon. Thinner ribbon will remove the bulk and allow for an A2 size envelope.

The backside of this standing card provides plenty of space to write and sign.

Shadow Box Card | Beary Cute

I mixed the Beary Cute and Merriest Trees Bundles for this card which is complimented by the Walk in the Forest Designer Paper.

This gorgeous designer paper is part of Stampin’ Up!’s ‘give back’ for the holidays. When you purchase a package, $3 will go to various organizations that help families during the holidays.

The images of the bear and the tree are part of the designer paper. I used the bear punch and the tree die to create quick images that required no coloring or fuss.

Bundles not only save you 10% but they provide you with perfect coordination to eliminate fussy cutting.

Shadow Box Card | Shop the Town

The detail on this card is striking! While this took more time than the other two samples I’ve shared here, I love to color! These soft shades of blue are so pretty.

I used Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers. If you’re new to these markers, check out my entire YouTube playlist HERE

stampin up

This stamp set doesn’t include dies so I fussy cut the tree, carolers and lights using my scissors. The building uses the coordinating Let’s Go Shopping Dies. I used the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to make a brick pattern on the upper portion of the building to coordinate with the first story.

Unlike the natural bow on my first card, this ribbon is softer and more pliable making it easy to fit into an A2 size envelope. Depending on the layers you provide you may need to consider additional postage. But it’s so worth it!

The die cut opening on this card uses the Countryside Corners Dies. I die cut an additional label for the backside which provides a little color to this white card base.
