I’m often asked what is the art of a good cardmaking design. The answer is simple. Color, layout and designer paper. Add those three elements together with any fun fold card idea and you’re all set!
I’m a huge fan of pop up and easel cards and today’s video and project sheet provide you with three (3) Christmas card ideas using a card that pivots and twists. Break out that gorgeous Stampin’ Up! designer paper and let’s make a holiday card they’ll never forget!

Double Twisted Easel Card | Merry & Bright
There’s so much to love about the Merry & Bright Bundle and the coordinating Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper. Not only is it bright and cheerful but the double-sided patterns will have you using this package of paper all-year long!
The Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green Foil accent this cheerful card so well. Perfect for the bulb caps and wire, but certainly amazing on any card that needs a splash of shine!
Every easel card needs a stopper and for this one I couldn’t resist using these amazing light bulbs. The Bundle includes two different styles to choose from and makes creating these bulbs quick and easy!
White craft ink is a pigment ink and when stamped without heat embossing provides a great chalky finish. It was perfect for the filament on these bulbs!
REAR VIEW
Adhering the panels together is an important step to this card so be sure to watch the video so that the backside of your easel looks like mine.
Double Twisted Easel Card | Joy of Christmas
Vintage patterns on the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper will never go out of style. Grab yourself more than one package because you’ll use it for years to come!
The Christmas PineCone Dies has been a favorite of mine for the last few years. I was thrilled to see it carried over into this year’s Annual Catalog. The details of the pine needles and pine cones pair so well with this vintage paper.
Designer Paper Magic!
Pecan Pie is one of my new favorite colors that Stampin’ Up! introduced this year. It’s the perfect shade of brown for so many projects. Here I used it for the lower layer of the pine cone which was topped with the detailed die in Early Espresso cardstock.
If you like a “two-for-one” you’ll love the Double Oval Punch which includes both the oval and the scallop. Use them independently or layer them as I have for this simple greeting.
The backside of this card leaves plenty of space for your sentiment and a handwritten message. If you’re looking for a holiday card that can provide an area for a family photo, this one is perfect for that as well.
Double Twisted Easel Card | Brightest Glow
Snowflakes with metallic paper! It doesn’t get any better – or any prettier! The Snowflake Magic designer series specialty paper will have you drooling!
The frosty gones of Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and white provide an icy and wintery feel that works incredibly well with snowflakes!
These detailed snowflakes are from the Chic Dies. They’re small enough to fit in tight area but detailed enough for center embellishments!

Lisa, There is no template in the instructions for tonight’s cards. Thanks
Hi Jo! Thanks for watching the video. During the Premier’s Live Chat I mentioned that there was as problem with the template that had to be corrected. I couldn’t do that until the Premier was over but it’s been updated now. So be sure to try again. Enjoy!
