An interactive card allows the recipient to participate in the open and closing of a handmade card. This hidden message card does just that! With a hidden panel this magic card slides the greeting to an inside sentiment when the card opens!

Better known as a peekaboo, this pivot card has a secret slider card mechanism that allows the panels to move. It’s comprised of three separate pieces with perfectly aligned windows that create all the magic. Whether creating for a man’s birthday, upcoming Father’s Day, wanting a thank you card or even a sympathy card, you’ll agree that this hidden message card will deliver lots of interactive fun.

The Fragrant Layers Bundle (stamp set + coordinating) dies are exquisite! They can create individual flowers, overlays and backgrounds for all kinds of occasions.

interactive slider card

I’ve paired it here with the Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series Paper and added corner details from the Beautifully Celebrated Dies. If you enjoy scrapbooking, the Beautifully Celebrated Dies shouldn’t be overlooked! The layered shaped dies (not pictured) and the corners will make beautiful scrapbook layouts, or cards, in minutes.

The secret to this card are the perfectly aligned openings. I used punches but you could easily use dies.

pivoting card

Don’t miss the video where I change up the inside left of this card just a bit to provide you with variations.

Interactive Slider Card | Trusty Tools

The Trusty Tools stamp set + Trust Tools Dies have been a long time favorite which explains why Stampin’ Up! has had them around for so long. These timeless images create masculine cards for all the men in your life, or women, who enjoy the hobby and craft of fixing and building.

father's day card

Before you point out that I missed the embellishment on the front of this card to ‘hold’ the tools, I know! Once the video was made and the cards photographed, THEN I remembered. I did add small black dots to the top handle of the paint brush and on either side of the hammer head to make it appear as if there were pegs in the board. A small touch I initially overlooked but wanted to point out so you don’t inadvertently miss it as well.

masculine card

This fancy fold card idea will never get old! Those moving panels make this a fun card to make and receive. The pivoting and sliding panels make this interactive fold will have them asking “how did you do that?!”

cards for men

Without designer paper in the colors I wanted to use, I opted to use the stamp images to create a random background on the inside left of this card. I inked the image using Lemon Lime Twist and then stamped off one layer of ink on scratch paper to reduce the color before stamping it on the cardstock. It’s a great way to use your stamps to substitute for pattern paper.

Terrific Toadstools

This Bundle is a fun one! With a coordinating builder punch, the Terrific Toadstools Bundle will have you making perfectly shaped mushrooms in no time.

thankyou card

The two-tone hill was created using the rock and roll technique. If you’re unfamiliar with this easy technique, click HERE to watch my 25-second YouTube Shorts video.

pattern paper

If you’re using pattern paper, choose that first before making your card. The colors in your paper will dictate the colors for the images on your card making the design process so much easier.

An additional creative idea is to stamp an image behind the text to create a subtle background. Here I used the Flirty Flamingo “stamped off” to add the small trio of mushrooms.
