There are occasions when you’ll need a handmade card that has more room for signatures. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and retirements come to mind. Today’s expanding panel card not only provides ample space for signatures and handwritten messages, but it’s also a terrific fun fold card layout!
Graduation season is soon upon us and while I created a card with that theme, I couldn’t resist demonstrating this expanding card in both a portrait and landscape layout. The great part about the anniversary card I’m demonstrating is a fantastic tip on embossing vellum. This panel card also provides added space for your favorite pattern paper and stamped images, too.

Expanding Panel Card | Valentine Kisses Anniversary
Grab your favorite designer paper and pair it with your favorite stamp set for anniversary cards and you’ll have an adorable – or beautiful – card in no time.
I used the Lovely and Beautiful designer paper to dictate the colors of the card base and flowers. While the Valentine Kisses stamp set may lead you to believe the set is only for Valentine’s Day, think again. This set includes images that can be used for baby showers, invitations, get well and so much more!

The Reason to Celebrate is one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets. You can mix and match the words to create custom greetings with matching fonts.
Expanding Panel Card | Cap & Gown
Living in the Tampa Bay area, the popular University of South Florida colors were used to create this graduation card. Change the colors to suit your graduate’s school for a personal handmade greeting.
Since I didn’t have designer paper in the colors I needed I created my own faux paper background using colored cardstock, coordinating ink, and stamp images.
The Everyday Arches dies is the perfect size to hold these graduation images. I colored them using Stampin’ Blends Markers which are alcohol-based providing a flawless streak-free finish!
I carried the handmade background through the center of this expanding section. The ink is still light enough that extra signatures and messages can easily be written over the top while providing a pattern paper look.
Simply Beautiful
Simply Beautiful is the perfect name for this Bundle! The stamps and coordinating dies provide elegant cards.
I paired the Lovely Arrangements Dies for the circle background using the same designer paper as my first anniversary card. These double-sided designs allow for lots of variety.

I opted to add a small strip of leftover pattern paper to the left side along with a simple flower. Additionally, a small greeting was added to fill some space and continue the sentiment from the front of the card.
