Folded Origami Flap Card | Artisan Sketched Garden
This pinwheel card provides the impressive design of folded paper and an interesting place to hide a greeting, all in one!
The Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper is incredibly versatile. Its black and white double-sided designs make it easy to customize for any occasion. I added a light touch of color to coordinate with the flowers and create a soft, finished look.
I also mixed two different Designer Series Paper packs, which is easy to do with Stampin’ Up! products because the colors are designed to coordinate perfectly. It’s a simple way to add variety while keeping your card beautifully cohesive.
Aside from the flap of this card opening to reveal the inside sentiment, there’s space inside the origami fold to house an additional sentiment.
I colored part of the Designer Series Paper flowers with Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers, then carefully cut them out with my scissors. A few loops of Metallic Thread add subtle texture at the bottom of the card and beautifully complement the folds above.

I chose to highlight the Golden Glow side of this Designer Series Paper by adding a few small floral die cuts. Most of the patterns in this collection don’t include flowers, making these die-cut accents an easy way to add extra interest and tie the design together.
Don’t miss my tips in the video for creating a pinwheel card that closes perfectly every time. This card was my prototype, and along the way I discovered a few simple adjustments that eliminate the small gap in the center for a clean, flawless finish.
