Rustic Christmas with Snowflake Sentiments

The smell of pine, snowflakes falling from the sky, the warmth from a glowing fireplace and the sound of your favorite holiday music. Ohhh, the feeling of Christmas! And, let’s not forget chestnuts roasting on an open fire! My Nana made chestnuts every Christmas so I grew up loving them. She’d soak them in water then use a knife to make an “X” on the top and roast them in the oven. This is just one of many fond memories I have of Christmases growing up. What’s one of yours?

This card has the perfect rustic feeling thanks to the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. This package of designer paper has varied woodgrains and colors. I cut a piece of the white washed pattern 2″ x 4 1/4″ and stamped the greeting using Soft Suede ink.

The greeting and the snowflakes are both part of the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set. At first glance you might overlook this set in the Holiday Catalog because of it’s simplicity but let me assure you, it’s a must have! There are varied greetings for both the inside and outside of your cards and beautiful snowflake images. It’s a timeless stamp set you’ll enjoy for years to come.

I stamped the snowflakes using Whisper White Craft ink and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Embossing Powder. The simple white cotton bow is created from the Whisper White Classic Weave ribbon and it makes the perfect accent.
