In a little girl’s world, the unicorn is a magical creature that is both majestic and beautiful – and is always surrounded by a cloud of glitter. ((The cloud of glitter part sounds a lot like my stamp studio!)) For decades this image has made an appearance in everything from TV commercials, children’s toys (Boo loved My Little Pony!), motion pictures and now, Stampin’ Up!’s Magical Day stamp set and Magical Mates Framelits dies.
I colored the unicorn using the alcohol based Stampin’ Blends – which I LOVE! I’ve long had a passion for coloring and these make me look like a pro! Easy to use, they create the perfect shading that takes only minutes to accomplish. The best part is that I’m able to use them in conjunction with my Stampin’ Write Markers. The mane of the unicorn uses the Bermuda Bay and the Lemon Lime Twist markers to coordinate with the designer paper. If you haven’t tried the new Stampin’ Blends I’d like to give you some encouragement. I’ve got an entire video series teaching you how to use them here.

The Magical Day stamp set has coordinating framelits (purchase them in a Bundle to save you 10%!) which guarantees you don’t have to fussy cut this unicorn or any of the other images included in this stamp set. The set includes several greetings but I dug into my inventory and pulled out the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. The banner in that set coordinates with the Duet Banner Punch. Mixing and matching your stamp sets ensures lots of flexibility!
This unicorn isn’t sans glitter either! That gorgeous Glimmer Paper is among a package of three colors that include Iridescent, light green and turquoise. I’ve listed all the supplies for this card below. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom to see them.
