The gorgeous Petal Palette stamp set in the new Occasions Catalogs has unlimited possibilities.  The florals, stems, bird and greetings will create cards for any occasion.  Stamp sets with numerous greetings gives you the opportunity to use just part of a phrase, as I’ve done here, with “some things are just meant to be”.

Due to the font and spacing of the greeting, I was able to ink up just the first two lines using the Basic Gray ink pad.  You can also use a marker to capture any portion of a greeting or image.  My only caution with a marker is be sure that you won’t be coloring the completed image in with an Aqua Painter or Blender Pen.  The ink in the markers are dye based causing them to run when colored.

This card is smaller than most of the cards I create but still fits nicely into a medium white envelope.  I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ which resulted in a 4 1/4″ square card. I stamped the cluster of roses using Basic Gray ink on a piece of cardstock measuring 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″.  I used a very light hand to add color to the flowers and leaves using an Aqua Painter.

The new Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon has the most wonderful texture. As with all the Stampin’ Up! ribbons, it’s double-sided which allowed me to drape it behind the image.
