Epic Rock Star!
I’m sure you have a ‘rock star’ on your birthday card list. I’ve got three great nephews who are always playing ‘air guitar’, singing and dancing to whatever song is on the radio.
The rock star feel to this card is played up well with the retro marquee arrow highlighting the text from the Marquee Messages stamp set “party like a rock star”.
If you look closely at this 4″ x 4″ card you’ll see that I covered the circles to make them resemble light bulbs on a marquee sign. Once the entire card was finished and assembled I added Fine-Tip Glue to each of those circles and allowed it to sit and dry. The result is a textured surface that you can’t resist touching.
The guitar fits with this sentiment perfectly and is part of the free Sale-A-Bration selections called “Epic Celebrations”. I heat embossed the image using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. I wanted it to remain subtle so as not to take away from that bright neon arrow.
Happy Valentine’s Day! 29 years ago today I said “I do” to the man of my dreams. We have no special plans to celebrate today other than enjoying a quiet home-cooked meal. We learned 29 years ago that dining out on Valentine’s Day is chaotic. I’d much rather have a heart-shaped box filled with chocolaty goodness. Bob the Builder knows that’s an ‘expected treat’ on this holiday!
