Today’s blog post is a bit different – and quite an honor. I’ve been invited to blog hop with Kylie Bertucci’s (Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Australia) team called the “Crazy Crafters”. And imagine my delight when I was told that the blog hop theme would be “casing Lisa Curcio”!
The Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrators taking part in today’s blog hop have been asked to case a project that I’ve previously shared on my blog. They may have change the color or even the stamp set but the general layout will be the same. I’m super excited to see what they’ve come up with and I think you will be too.
Casing Myself
In the spirit of this blog hop theme, I thought I’d case myself as well. I shared a card using the clear block stamping technique on September 3rd HERE. I’ve used the exact same layout and incorporated different stamps and designer paper for today’s card. My previous blog post on this technique also includes a video so don’t miss the tips I’ve included. Click HERE.
I used Berry Burst for the clear block stamping technique and it’s a strong color so I inked the stamp and stamped it several times, without re-inking the block, and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock. This left me with three different tones for backgrounds.
This image represents the darkest of the tones in this technique. I opted to use the Petal Palette stamp set and I stamped the floral image using Fresh Fig. It’s just dark enough to stand out against the darkest of the squares and coordinates with the Petal Promenade Designer Paper.
A pretty card often includes a few simple details. While the clear block stamping technique was probably enough, you know I can’t resist a beautifully coordinated ribbon – and some bling! I added a small Clear Faceted Gem to the greeting.
Not only is the technique easy, but it creates beautiful, quick cards which will make perfect gifts this holiday season. Bundle up a stack and give them to friends, family and teachers for a quick, inexpensive and personal gift.
Be sure to click on the names below to hop along and enjoy the additional inspiration these talented Australian demonstrators have to share. And don’t forget to come back on Monday when I’ll be sharing a beautiful and affordable party favor idea!
