Happy Monday everyone! I’ve got a fun new fold for you today using the Petal Palette stamp set. This fancy fold card features a double point opening to reveal a hidden greeting. It has a simple color palette using the beautiful Petal Passion suite of products (page 23 of the Occasions Catalog). My team member, Phyllis Shively, taught this project during a make & take at our team meeting/Inspiration Night a few months ago. She said she learned the fold from Jeanie Stark. I’m not sure what the original name of this fold is so I’ve dubbed it the “double point fold”. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to create, too!
I’m including pictures, cutting dimensions and a complete supply list following the video in today’s post. Be sure to scroll down to see them.
Cutting Dimensions
- Basic Black cardstock base is cut 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock layer is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Petal Passion Designer Paper – cut 2 pieces measuring 3″ x 4″. Score 1″ on the 3″ side.

Hi Ruthan! I’m so glad you like the card. Thanks for coming by to take a look!
Beautiful… looks complicated but with your excellent details seems simple to put together. Thank you for sharing.
Bernice, this is super simple to make – I promise! I hope you’ll give it a try. Thanks for your comment.
Your tutorials are really encouraging and the card is beautiful as well.
Thank you so much! Thrilled you enjoy what I share. Thank you for watching.
I needed another club project for this week and this fits the bill! Always looking for a new fold pattern. Great video!
Thank you, Linda. So glad you like it enough to use the fold for your club project! Thanks for coming by.
Such a pretty card!
So glad you like it, Darla. Thank you!
Cute card. Instead of making pencil ticks that need to be erased, try post-it notes to show the no-go area for stamping. You give a nice, detailed video!
Now why didn’t I think of post-it-notes, Laurie?! Thank you for that tip! It’s brilliant. So glad you enjoyed the video, too.
Love this card! ❤️
Thank you, Linda!
Love the card design. I’ll be making it soon. Did you use the biggest lots of love thinlet and the size below it? Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Hi Margarita! I’m so glad you like the project. The products I used are listed at the bottom of the post after the pictures. Hope that helps.
Thanks for sharing can’t wait to make this card
You’re most welcome, June! It’s a fun and easy fold.
Love this card. Tried to case it but had difficulty getting the flaps to stay down. Any ideas.
Hi Betty! So glad you like the card. Did you watch the video to see how to use the Bone Folder to crease and reinforce the fold and how I placed Snail adhesive inside the fold to secure it? If you did, I’m wondering which type of adhesive you are using. That could be the culprit. I had numerous people recreate this card/fold and have sent me pictures without incident. This is why I’m wondering if it’s your adhesive. Let me know how I can help. You are welcome to email me at lisa@lisasstampstudio.com
Hi Lisa,
Thanks so much for the video. The Double Pointed Card turned out great!
Just a little note. Your instructions say to score at 1″ on the 4″ side, but I
think you meant to say the 3″ inch side (portrait). Thanks again for
the great video. I am going to use it for one of my classes.
Judy, you are absolutely correct about the “side”. Thank you for the correction. I’ve corrected the text on the cutting dimensions so others will know as well. Appreciate that you “have my back”! 😀 Glad you enjoyed the card.
gorgeous card, and easy to follow directions, love this
Thank you for the kind words, Terri! So glad you like it. Thanks for stopping by to comment.
No one does a tutorial better than you. Everything is clearly explained and easy to follow. I so appreciate and look forward to your tutorials.
You’re so sweet, Mary! Thank you for the kind and encouraging words. So happy to read that you enjoy what I share!
Lisa, I watched a tutorial today on two cards in one and would like to make it but can’t find it. Can you please tell me where I can locate the instructions. Thank you
Marie
Hi Marie! Thank you for watching. The blog post and video I believe you are referring to is here: https://lisasstampstudio.com/2018/07/triangle-fold-intersecting-card.html This fold makes 2 cards at the same time. Hope that helps.
I was daunted at the thought of making the double point card, your instructions are so clear and it all seems so simple. Thanks so much…..I’ve now subscribed to all your videos ?
Hi Debbie! I hope you’ll give this card a try. It’s truly not difficult. Especially happy to hear that you found my instructions easy to follow. Thanks for subscribing!
How beautiful and you made it look so easy. Thank you!
Hi Patricia! Thank you for your kind words. It is easy! Thanks for stopping by.
Hello Lisa. I just saw your Petal Palette Double Point card. LOVELY! I am going downstairs right now to make one. Thank you.
Hi Karin! I’m so glad you like it enough to make one for yourself. Enjoy!
Beautiful, easy card that looks so elegant. Excellent video as well. TFS.
Thank you so much for the tutorial on how you did the points. I’ve been trying to measure 2″ in the center and down each side. The score of 1″ was the perfect tip. Thank you so very much…..Found you on YouTube….
Hi and thanks for coming by to watch. I’m so glad that YouTube led you to my website and happy to read that the video was helpful.
Love you card but do not no were to go to make it not good at all this Thanks would like to try it Thanks June
So glad you enjoyed the card, June! Thanks for coming by.
Love the interesting fold – your instructions are clear. However, I need to practice more on making the folds. I covered my mistakes by adding a triangle on the inside. The DSP I used had “other colors” which were showing through. I will definitely make other double point cards and will be watching for more of your inspiring creations. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Hi Billie! Happy to read you’ve enjoyed the card and my instructions. If it makes you feel any better, I make lots of mistakes. They are what I call “happy accidents” and allow me opportunities to provide embellishments to my card.
The directions for Petal Palatte say score on 3” side but you did 4” side
Carolyn happy you could visit this video I made a few years ago!! I apologize for the error. It would be the 4″ side. Just so you know I am now live on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Monday, and the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 8pm ET.
