Have you ever wondered how to create a watercolor splatter? Watercolor splatter can add subtle color and the appearance of texture to your cards, scrapbook pages, and 3D projects. This technique is easy to create using an Aqua Painter and your classic, dye-based ink pads.

The term watercolor splatter is for good reason – you won’t be able to determine exactly where the splatters will end up. Random color will drop in varying sizes and locations on your project lending for a very abstract and whimsical background. Try adding several different colors, applying them one at a time.

Today’s quick tip video shows you how to create the watercolor splatter and provides tips on drying and cleaning your Aqua Painter. Simple projects come to life with a little added color and this watercolor splatter can easily take the place of stamps with similar texture images. Both economical and fun, this technique will have you splattering your way through your handmade creations when you think it needs “just a little something more”.
