Creative Card Details

The Basic Pattern Decorative Masks are a hidden gem in the Holiday Catalog. Take a peek on page 35 in the lower left corner and you’ll find a four-pack of amazing patterns that can be used for sponging, misting and embossing paste.

I used one of these patterns for the background on this card in an unassuming color. Neutral tones go well with any color combination so don’t be afraid to reach for Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate or Gray Granite, as I have done here.

And these cups! The Cup of Christmas Bundle (Holiday Catalog page 34) are one of my favorites! I wanted to share how this Bundle of products can extend well past Christmas.

Look through your die inventory and choose an image that would work for the center opening. I selected a heart since it work with any occasion and gender. Then select a color palette and sponge ink onto the cups in an ombre finish using Sponge Daubers. I’ve got lots of tips on how to achieve this look effortlessly in today’s video.

Color coordination is Stampin’ Up!’s specialty and no one does it better! I used the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based marker to highlight a keep word in my greeting to bring the perfect continuity to the color palette of this card.

And don’t forget accessories! Whether it’s ribbon tied to a cup handle or heart epoxy droplets, add a little added texture to your card. I promise the person receiving it will be touching them! 🙂
